Public talk to explore the economic case for a basic income guarantee

On February 9, 2016, Nourish invites you to attend a free public talk on the economic benefits of a basic income guarantee (BIG). The talk, which marks the second installment of the Nourish Food Series, will be held from 7:00pm to 8:30pm at 185 King Street.

Co-sponsored by Nourish and the Basic Income Peterborough Network (BIPN), February’s event will feature Dr. Evelyn Forget, the Manitoba economist who conducted a retrospective evaluation of the Dauphin project.

“Dr. Forget’s work has helped to increase our understanding of how a basic income could benefit the Canadian economy and our society as a whole,” said BIPN co-chair, Jason Hartwick, “that’s why we are excited about the opportunity to learn from her valuable insights.”
