The Trent Community Research Centre (TCRC) is an independent, charitable organization that connects post-secondary students and faculty (primarily at Trent University) with Peterborough City and County organizations to create community-based research opportunities.
In community-based research, the research question comes from a community, and the answers are useful to that community. It involves credible research methods and equitable participation of community members. At TCRC, we believe community-based research is powerful. We exist to connect research to the challenges and opportunities arising from within a community. Why? Because when TCRC brings the needs of community-based organizations to academic faculty and students, we create the collaborative conditions for change.
